Meet The Team: Sandy Gould
Next up in our ‘Meet the Team’ series is Sandy Gould, the Direct Sales Manager at CHG. If you’ve never had the chance to sit and talk with her, you’re missing out! For the past 15 years, Sandy has been helping authors and independent publishers maneuver their way through the printing and publishing process.
Meet Sandy Gould.
Q: What is your role at CHG?
A: I help authors and indy publishers. I’m an advisor, consultant and hand-holder. My goal is to make the process smooth and easy.
Q: What is your favorite part about working here?
A: I get a little jolt from seeing someone’s vision become a tangible reality in the form of a book
Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
A: Garden, cook, or play golf.
Q: They say everyone has a book in them. What would your book be about?
A: Probably a YA fantasy about people from the future communicating messages encrypted on printed sheets in the press room that only the clever kiddo main characters can decipher. Who wants to co-author with me??
Q: What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. I have two grown children that I’m very proud of.
2. I have two parrots that keep me busy and entertained.
3. I interned as a juvenile court bailiff in college
Q: Who is your hero?
A: Anyone who advocates for those who don’t have a voice — especially children and animals
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A chemist, like my dad. He had a big influence on that until he saw my chemistry grades in high school.
Q: What was your first job?
A: We had a family business and I began my career by sweeping the factory floor at age 13. It was a small company started by my dad and I grew into various roles through college. I feel like it really shaped my work ethic.
Q: If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
A: Probably the 50’s when life was simpler.
