Paper Price and Lead Times are Changing

Paper markets have become increasingly difficult to navigate over the past few months. Most paper markets are still very tight with many mill machines on allocation and not taking new business beyond current commitments. Order lead times have increased out to as much as 8-10 weeks for some paper grades. There are a number of factors playing out at the same time in the paper and transportation industries, creating a supply and demand imbalance, chronic shortages, and late paper deliveries.

The time it takes to get paper from the mill to our print facility fluctuates, depending on the paper and the size of the print order.  Color House Graphics has done it’s best to maintain quick turnaround times for every project, but the industry changes require important proactive planning right now.

It’s also important to keep in mind that prices continue to escalate for most grades of paper. Current quotes you receive reflect these changes. Quotes that are older than 30-60 days may need to be reviewed and updated before your order is placed.

Please be sure to let your CHG account representative know about your project plans and deadlines as far in advance as possible. This allows for us to plan ahead and have the paper on hand to meet important deadlines and event dates.
